"Get Out The Waiting Room of Life | It’s Time to Stop Standing Still"

Get Out of the Waiting Room: Step Into Your Main Character Energy

We’ve talked about the concept of being a side character in your own movie—the background actor in a story meant to center you. When you’re supposed to radiate Main Character Energy, settling for anything less feels like a betrayal of your own story. So, what does Main Character Energy really mean? It’s about acting in your own best interest, no longer revolving your life around other people’s stories, and fully owning the pen that writes your fate.

But here’s the kicker: too often, we put ourselves in the waiting room—a self-imposed purgatory where nothing happens because we’re too scared or too unsure to make a decision. We linger there, wasting precious time, hoping something—or someone—will come along and save us.

Decisiveness: The Antidote to Stagnation

One thing I’ve grown to love about this new, more empowered version of myself is my newfound decisiveness. I’ve stopped waiting. Waiting for the “perfect” opportunity, for someone to recognize my potential, or for some cosmic green light signaling it’s finally time to act. I’ve learned the hard way that time doesn’t pause for you to figure things out.

I’ve ditched the passive idea that something great will eventually land in my lap if I just keep existing. Instead, I’ve embraced the truth: you have to create your own motion. The law of inertia applies to life too—once you set things in motion, other opportunities and blessings will be drawn to you like magnets. But you have to push the ball first.

The Law of Cause and Effect

I’ve always believed in karma and the law of cause and effect. Here’s the thing: assuming the effect will come without the cause? That’s wishful thinking, and it’s a trap many of us fall into. So many women I speak with hold on to this romanticized idea that someone will “find” them, “save” them, or finally give them the validation they’ve been craving.

This mindset keeps us stuck—frozen—in the waiting room. And let’s be real: we’re adults. Time is flying by. Weeks blur into months, and suddenly another year has passed. Do you really want to look back and realize you spent it waiting for someone else to hand you the life you could’ve built for yourself?

Create Your Light

You have to consciously create your life. You have to get out of the house, show up for yourself, and stop hiding your potential. There’s this idea of a moth being drawn to a flame. But what happens if there’s no flame? Without your light, no one can see you. Without taking action, no one can recognize your brilliance.

So, shine. Brightly, unapologetically, and consistently. Let people be drawn to your energy—not because you’re waiting for them, but because you’re radiating so much power, confidence, and purpose that they can’t help but notice.

The Bottom Line

It’s time to stop waiting and start living. Get out of the metaphorical waiting room. Make decisions. Take bold steps, even if they’re imperfect. Stop wishing for someone to discover you. Discover yourself first. Build the life you want. Become the person who doesn’t just dream but executes.

Light that flame within you. Pop your shit. Let the world see you. And remember: you’re not just the main character—you’re also the director, producer, and writer of your story. Make it one worth watching.

Queens Don’t Wait

Question: Are you queen or concierge? Lately, I’ve been completely opposed to waiting—I simply don’t have the patience. Like Jay said, I have no patience, and I hate waiting. If I’m somewhere and not feeling it, I leave. If someone wants to meet up with me, I keep it moving until they show up. I’m no longer chasing people, coordinating, or making things happen on their behalf. I’m just existing. If I see you, I see you. If I don’t, it wasn’t meant to be. This mindset has brought me so much peace.
