ALEXANDRIA'S ALCHEMY

ALEXANDRIA'S ALCHEMY

Matthew 7:6 (KJV): “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”

In the past year, the phrase “don’t cast your pearls before swine” has resonated deeply with me. It’s a powerful reminder that not everyone is worthy of the energy, consideration, and love we have to offer.

My Superpower: Consideration

One of my greatest strengths is consideration. I approach relationships with intentionality because it’s something I longed for growing up. I wanted someone to recognize my likes, my individuality, and my desires. For me, being considerate is a sign of love, not just a gesture.

However, I’ve come to realize that my thoughtful nature can feel alien or offbeat to those who lack similar qualities. For some, my consideration can be perceived as a threat or an annoyance, especially if they struggle with self-love or cannot reciprocate the same level of attentiveness.

Replacing Resentment with Understanding

Resentment only weighs us down, keeping us anchored to situations and people who don’t appreciate our worth. Instead of clinging to feelings of bitterness, choose to understand that your happiness is paramount. You don’t have to stay in environments where you’re mistreated.

When you remove yourself from toxic dynamics, you open the door to relationships where you are valued and considered. Prioritize your well-being and seek spaces where your presence is celebrated. Leave behind what no longer serves you, and embrace the joy that comes from being in the company of those who uplift you. Your happiness is worth it!

Three Essentials for Healthy Relationships

Moving forward, I’ve set some non-negotiables in my relationships: recognition of value, respect, and consideration. Without these three pillars, the relationship simply cannot stand.

Recognition of Value: Value is subjective, and not everyone will appreciate your worth, regardless of how you show up. For instance, if someone runs late without communicating, it reflects a lack of regard for your time. If they can’t value you in simple moments, then they don’t get my time.

Consideration: If my presence doesn’t evoke thoughtfulness or empathy from you, then I have to rethink my place in your life. We extend formalities to colleagues and strangers; the same should apply to those we claim to care about. If you can’t extend basic consideration, my absence will speak volumes.

Respect: Disrespect, in any form, is unacceptable. A lack of recognition or consideration indicates a fundamental disrespect for me as a person. I have no tolerance for anything that edges into abuse; I am a high-caliber individual, and I deserve to be treated as such.

The Lesson Learned

The most significant lesson I’ve embraced this year is to not waste my energy on those who don’t recognize my value. It’s simple: if someone doesn’t consider, value, or respect you, you don’t owe them your effort. This means awarding disrespect with your absence and understanding that some people simply aren’t deserving of your time and attention.

The True Meaning of Being Equally Yoked

Being equally yoked goes beyond physical appearance or social status; it encompasses emotional availability and intelligence as well. It’s about finding those who resonate with your values and love language. Surround yourself with people who share your capacity for empathy, understanding, and growth.

When you connect with others on an emotional and intellectual level, you create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Choose relationships that inspire and challenge you, where love is reciprocal and growth is mutual. True harmony comes from being with those who love like you do—deeply, thoughtfully, and authentically.

Advice for the Unappreciated

If you’re feeling unappreciated in your life, it’s crucial to reassess your surroundings and the people in them. Here’s how to elevate your experiences:

Recognize Your Worth: Understand that you deserve to be valued and respected. Don’t let others dictate your self-worth.

Set Boundaries: Clearly define what you will and won’t tolerate in your relationships. Your time and energy are precious; don’t waste them on those who don’t appreciate them.

Seek Higher Caliber Relationships: Surround yourself with people who uplift you, show genuine consideration, and respect your time. Seek out those who can reflect the love and attentiveness you provide.

Practice Self-Love: Invest time in yourself. Engage in activities that fulfill you and nurture your spirit. When you prioritize self-love, you naturally attract healthier relationships.

Let Go: Sometimes, you have to release toxic people to make space for those who will appreciate you. It’s not easy, but it’s essential for your well-being.

Remember, you have the power to curate the relationships in your life. Choose wisely and invest in those who see you for the incredible person you are.

A High-Caliber Individual Knows Their Worth

A goddess—or any high-caliber individual—understands that they deserve to be treated with respect and love. They do not linger in environments where they are valued less than they are. Instead, they recognize their worth and choose to walk away from situations that diminish their light.

Staying in the presence of disrespect or neglect only stifles their growth and happiness. A true goddess prioritizes self-love and sets boundaries that reflect their value. Surround yourself with those who uplift and appreciate you, because your time and energy are too precious to waste. Know your worth, and don’t settle for anything less than you deserve.
